If there’s a gap from where you are now and where you want to be, this can be an overwhelming feeling. The larger the gap, the worse the feeling. Anxiety strikes when we are looking too far ahead in the future, which is usually what happens here. We’re focusing all our attention on how far we need to go, which ends up crippling us. So, we either quit, or don’t even bother getting started.

 

Here's how not to let that happen.

 

Step 1. What are your goals? Who is it that you’re trying to become?

 

Step 2. Why? Why are these things important to you, and how will they make your life different?

 

Step 3. Focus on today. Live today like the person you are trying to become would live.

 

Step 4. Do this for just one more day. Rather than overwhelming yourself with the thought of, “I have to do this forever?!” Instead focus on committing to it for just one more day. Then when the next day comes, commit once again for just one more day.

 

Making changes in your life is not an easy thing to do. It’s a battle. But I can promise you if you commit to fighting that battle just one day at a time it can change your life.
