We're all busy, but being busy is no excuse to set aside our health and well-being.

A simple and effective way to take care of yourself is by incorporating more fresh fruits and vegetables into your daily routine.

To help make this easier and more convenient, I'd like to introduce you to the idea of Sunday meal prepping for fruits and vegetables.

Meal prepping entire meals on Sunday can be overwhelming and let's be honest, not realistic to sustain. Instead, try prepping your produce for the week, rather than entire meals.  This can be a game-changer, making it easy to grab snacks or incorporate them into your meals throughout the week. Here's how I do it:

  • Plan Your Weekly Menu: Begin by deciding which fruits and vegetables you'd like to include in your meals. Consider your favorite recipes, preferences, and nutritional needs.
  • Grocery Shopping: On Saturday or early Sunday, shop for the fruits and vegetables you've planned to include. Opt for a variety of colors and types.
  • Wash and Prep: Sunday morning is the perfect time to wash, chop, and prepare your fruits and veggies. Invest in good-quality storage containers to keep them fresh longer.
  • Portion Control: Divide your produce into portion-sized containers or snack bags. This makes it incredibly easy to grab a healthy snack or add them to your meals without any hassle.
  • Incorporate Creativity: Experiment with different ways to enjoy your prepped fruits and vegetables. They can be added to salads, used as sides, blended into smoothies, or enjoyed as a quick, healthy snack.

Here are some benefits of Sunday meal prepping for fruits and vegetables:

  • Time-Saving: It reduces the time spent on meal preparation during busy weekdays, making it easier to maintain a balanced diet.
  • Nutrient-Rich: You'll have access to nutrient-packed foods readily available, promoting better health.
  • Saves Money: Buying fruits and vegetables in bulk and preparing them at once can be more cost-effective.
  • Convenience: You'll have healthy options at your fingertips, reducing the temptation to opt for less nutritious choices.
